Improve Eyesight Through Botanicals

Are you looking for ways to improve your vision?

You can improve your eyesight naturally with botanicals whether you wear glasses or not.

For humans, consuming certain herbs can have a remarkable effect on our eyes. Botanicals are natural power houses for helping improve eyesight.

Here are seven foods, rich in Vitamin D, that can improve vision and even treat certain types of vision problems.

Watercress
Brewer's Yeast (best natural source)
Lettuce
Bananas
Walnuts
Spinach
Tomatoes

If you are anxious to give these foods a try and are in need of some ideas for incorporating these foods into your diet, try these...

Bananas - How about a tasty treat by slicing up a banana and pouring some delicious chocolate syrup on it! Yes you're getting some extra calories, but your eyes (and tummy) will love you for it!

Lettuce - A simple tossed salad with any type of lettuce, blue cheese, a teaspoon of walnuts and a dressing of balsamic vinegar is both tasty and healthy. Did you notice that this suggestion includes two foods for your eyes? I snuck in some walnuts which are another great source of nutrients for the eyes.

Spinach - A simple spinach salad at least twice will do the trick. Just wash the spinach well, break it up, add some bacon bits, a teaspoon of shredded cheese of choice, some blue cheese salad dressing, a few slices of tomato and voila! You're ready to go, and Popeye's customers will be green with envy!

Watercress - Slice them and add to your salads. Easy as pie!

Brewer's Yeast - Adding this nutritional powerhouse to any food will really benefit you. Simply sprinkle it over your bowl of popcorn, a bowl of soup, or any food at all. You can also buy capsules.

Now here are two more foods to add to your diet for better eyesight:

Carrots are packed with carotene and can easily be added to the salads I mentioned above. I suggest finely grating them to put over your salads. I think shredded carrots taste better than large dense pieces of carrot.

Lutein is a yellowish/orangeish phytochemical pigment that's found predominantly in fruits and vegetables. Lutein performs as an antioxidant in your body to reduce accumulations of free radicals. I have used lutein in my diet for many years and have found it to effective in improving the health of my eyes. Before I started taking it I, was having some minor problems with focusing and blurring. I no longer have either of those problems.

Incorporate some of these foods in your diet. Not only will your eyesight improve, you'll probably see other healthy benefits as well.

Very useful tips. Your eyesight is so important. Once you start having problems, you bo longer take it for granted. I'm planning on cataract surgery in November and hope I can restore some vision. Voted your hub up and useful.

Dear Going2ohau,

I too had eye problem. I am diagnosed with long vision problem +75 in one eye and +50. I was seriously worried.I went on consulting my medical friends as i was from medical back ground.Every one said the best is to have good food with Vit A .

One of my friend named sundar he told me his experience that he really got back his original vision by daily morning 5 km walking and also three glasses of carrot juices daily for 1.5 years.

So if only carrot has this much effect what effect by having all your list of vegetables .

I congratulate you for PUTTING up a nice useful hub for the benefit of all the ignorant bandus.

voted up and useful.

I am following you also.

Thanks for writing this hub. I voted up and useful. With all the new advertising about a vitamin product just for your eyes, it is good to know I don't need to buy anything special, just keep eating the items mentioned on your list!
