How to Ask a Girl On a Date

The Dreaded First Date
Here's what I have discovered about dating...
The only thing scarier than going on your first date is asking for your first date. With the fear of rejection, fear of the unknown, and fear of failure all on the line, it's really no wonder. If you'll just remember however that you're not looking for a cure for cancer and you're not going to die if he or she says no, well then you might relax enough to actually (gulp) ask for it.
Yep.. Whether it's spontaneous or planned, whether you're friends or strangers - somebody has to ask for the first date.
Hundreds of thousands of perfectly regular people have gotten all nervous about asking for the first date. What that means is that you are connected to a well documented line of sweating, stuttering,
tongue-twisted souls. Here are some things that should
comfort you when it comes to the asking process.
Fear of Rejection
Have you heard the expression "no guts, no glory?" When it comes to the fear of rejection, you really need to remind yourself that the
worst-case scenario is a no. While rejection
is definitely not fun, it's only one person's opinion of
you. You don't like everyone romantically, and unfortunately not everyone is going to like you. If your prospective date says no, then he or she misses out on getting to know how amazing you are!
Did you know that rejection can often be the beginning of an opportunity? The world is filled with hugely successful people who just wouldn't take a no for an answer. When Fred Astaire first went to Hollywood for example, a talent agent actually said "big ears, too skinny, big nose, can dance a little." Many famous personalities in show business and regular business had to cope with someone's negative opinion of them. Everybody at one time or another has faced rejection. Rejection means that one person currently says no but it does not mean that everyone will say no.
So, ask for the date already. Go ahead, ask! Do it! Do it now! Seriously, the worst thing you'll hear is a no but you might just be asking your soul mate. Hey. you might get a yes!
