Out of Body Experiences

Do you believe in astral projection?

Astral projection is an out of body experience that is induced by separating human consciousness from the physical human body. Lots of people have reported experiencing out of body moments randomly and even more have reported it during near death experiences.Did you know however, that there are scores of people who have learned how to trigger the astral projection experience at will and can do so whenever they please?

In this hub on the astral projection phenomena, I would like to go into greater detail on this topic and hope that you will comment on your belief or non-belief.

As far as cognitive science goes, there is absolutely no scientific evidence to back up a claim of astral projection. This really is not surprising however because there is not a scientific device available to record and prove such a claim. Most people who have learned to induce their own astral projection experiences prefer to keep a kinda' low profile so they're really not too concerned about proving their experience to others.

Seeing is believing (or in this case experiencing is believing) so the best way to decide if out of body experiences are real is to try experiencing one yourself. In order to create an astral projection experience, you'll need to put the physical body asleep while keeping the mind awake. There is no right way or wrong way to do this but the easiest way is to use brain entrainment techniques with the help of binaural beat recordings. The recordings allow the brain to lock into alpha sleep frequencies that are varied with delta alert frequencies. In this altered state of consciousness, you remain in control but separate your astral body from your physical body.

Thank you Rusty for that very insightful comment.

Wondering however, if you might be able to use a few more words and at least tell me what your beliefs are on the subject of astral projection? Thousands of people have reported astral projection during a near death experience. My question for you is, is it real or a mass delusion. Is it something that can occur only when in temporary paralysis or can a person induce this altered state?

Please expand on your original comment.

I agree. For them its like...the more you know the less you talk.

I too wrote about this topic sometime back. You can find a link on my profile page in case you want to read that. Whether science has evidence for astral projection or not, I don't care because I know it does happen. I read on your profile page that you are a student. Its praiseworthy to have interest in such subjects (like astral ..) for a person of your age. I wish you all the best in your life.

Look into the Monroe Institute www.monroeinstitute.org and Hemi-sync. The hemi-sync I have seen work for others, but has not for me. Still find it relaxing however. Had an ex become obsessed with the hemi-sync when she had her first out of body experience from it, became a drug, locking herself away with a set of headphones and trying to do it again, unsuccessfully.

You never did say whether you believe in. So?

I have no experience or knowledge on this topic. But does that mean you could leave your body and come ride horses with me in Idaho - in an astral kind of way? Could one leave their body and go spy on the neighbors or follow a cheating spouse to a motel?

I don't think we need any scientific instruments to measure this ability. If someone could project themselves across town and then come back and tell someone everything that happened or was said in a meeting and it turned out to be 100% true - then I would be first in line to sign up.

My first stop is Washington DC to get all the dirt on those corrupt politicians and send them down the river.

My second stop is an Hawaiin vacation for free - then I am going to explore the depths of the ocean and find all kinds of sunken ships. This stuff sounds great to me!

- Great Hub!

Personally I partially believe in astral projection. Energy is never created or destroyed it just changes form. Our souls or spirits are most likely energy and follow this rule.Seeing is believing but no documented proof of a astral body leaves me skeptical.
