Selena Gomez is a popular actress and singer on the Disney Channel, best known for her role of Alex Russo on the Emmy Award winning series called Wizards of Waverly Place. She has also starred in two very popular television movies (Princess Protection Program and Another Cinderella Story). Selena is a powerful teenage presence in Hollywood, but was she as hot before Disney got hold of her?
Gomez began her acting career when she was just seven years old by playing Gianna on a show called Barney & Friends, and she says that she learned everything about how to act by being on that show. Later, she got a role in the movie Spy Kids 3D: Game Over and the television movie called Walker, Texas Ranger: Trial By Fire.
Selena Gomez was discovered by the Disney Channel in 2004 when they were doing a nationwide talent search. Her first Disney role was a guest appearance on The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. She also did a guest appearance on the second season of Hannah Montana and was so well received that they gave her a recurring role. Then, in 2007 Gomez was cast as Alex Russo in Wizards of Waverly Place.
